Understanding the Importance of Communication Styles

Whether you are a team leader or team player, knowing how we give and receive information is one part of the equation of communication. How others give and receive information can directly affect our ability to effectively communicate and build effective relationships.

In this workshop you will learn and understand your personal style of communication and, as important, you will recognize other styles. This will help you learn how to communicate more effectively and build relationships - in your personal and professional life.

While there are many tools in the marketplace to address individual and group behavior and emotions, the DISC model, is considered the one of the most reputable.

During this course, you will explore the various components of DISC utilizing your individual results. Prior to the workshop, you will complete the DISC assessment online, and print and bring it to class as the basis for discussion about the various personality types. This knowledge can improve your management of others –directing, delegating, motivating – as well as increase your effectiveness as a team member or working more successfully with your manager or management team.
